Only one car manufacturer claims not to utilise artificial scents. All the others proudly incorporate complex scents of fine leather, precious woods and general ‘new car smell’ into their vehicles, whether by working it into the materials or spraying it under the seats. It obviously works, as studies show that 86% of Americans and 69% of Europeans consider scent to be a deciding factor when purchasing a new car.
